In 1990, (just for fun) I built some 6′ – 6′ 3″ round pin and swallow tail boards with the fins pushed forward. They are a great choice for larger surf where you encounter walls and room to maneuver. Not as good as my Fish designs for tube type waves, but extremely fun. The length makes them easy paddlers, yet with the fins set further up from the tail, combined with a curvy tail outline, they maneuver easily.
As with all my Blast 4 fin designs they have that “self propelled” feel with fantastic acceleration though and out of the turns.
